What is Green Key?

Green Key is the largest sustainability label for the Dutch travel and recreation industry. Sustainability is also very important to us, and we apply it throughout our hotel. This includes environmentally friendly cleaning, careful use of energy and water, recycling, and making conscious choices regarding organic food and certified products.

Levels

The Green Key certificate has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. The more environmental measures a business implements, the higher the level. We are proud that our efforts have been recognized with the highest level: Gold!

What do we do as a hotel?

At Van der Valk Hotel De Bilt – Utrecht, we are continuously working on new initiatives to further improve our sustainability. Although we cannot yet fully meet the requirements for LED lighting, we have received dispensation for this. In the planned renovation, which is currently in its final design phase, sustainability plays a central role. Once these plans are implemented, the hotel will be fully equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting.

In addition, we work with various sustainable partners and suppliers to further reduce our ecological footprint.
